SERVICES

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPY AND PROFESSIONAL CONSULTATION

"Questions are the keys that cause the secret doors of the psyche to swing open."

Women Who Run With The Wolves

In mental health therapy, you will have the opportunity to process life experiences in a nonjudgmental and safe setting, at your own pace, while also learning valuable tools to build resilience, facilitate wanted changes and goals, and better manage mental health symptoms.

A few things to note:

I only work with individual adults for therapy.

Telehealth services are available.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION FOR MENTAL HEALTH THERAPISTS

Clinical supervision offers guidance, mentorship, and oversight to mental health practitioners and students in training before becoming licensed to practice in the state of Iowa.

For those that feel they align with my background, training, and approach to therapy, contact me to gain further information on clinical supervision.

PRIVATE YOGA AND CORPORATE EVENTS/RETREATS

Do you want to experience yoga, but are nervous about attending a group class?  If so, private yoga sessions may be right for you, and are individually focused to be more conscious of injuries, disabilities, or traumatic stress that may negatively impact the practitioner and their experience.

Private classes, workshops, and events focused on yoga, mindfulness, or mental wellness are also available services and great for corporate and team building events or parties.

ABOUT SARAH L. WHITE

MS, LMHC, NCC, RYT200, TIYT

(she/her)

I am a part Native American female who is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor through the state of Iowa, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher.  I completed my Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Psychology and Criminal Justice and obtained my Master's degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Drake University.

I began taking yoga classes and practicing meditation and breathwork during college as a way to alleviate stress and manage my own nervous system dysfunction, which inspired me to pursue yoga teacher training and studies in yoga therapy and Ayurvedic health in order to better serve others in their own personal journey towards improved quality of life, and finding samadhi (bliss).

My approach to healing and treatment is person-centered, holistic, intuitive, and multicultural.  I enjoy pairing talk therapy with therapeutic movement, yoga (asana), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation; all of which have been shown to be effective in treatment of PTSD, anxiety, and depression (read more about the efficacy of therapeutic yoga for mental health on the resources page).

With over 10 years of counseling and yoga experience, I specialize in treating and working with anxiety, trauma/PTSD, disordered eating, military members/family, BIPOC populations, LGBTQ populations, and women’s growth and potential.

In my free time, I am driven to teach yoga classes or pursue speaking events throughout the community.  I also love reading, live music, being a mom to my only born, and spending time in nature.
